English Synonyms and Antonyms
desire
Inclination is the mildest of these terms; it is a quiet, or even a vague or unconscious, tendency. Even when we speak of a strong or decided inclination we do not express the intensity of desire. Desire has a wide range, from the highest objects to the lowest; desire is for an object near at hand, or near in thought, and viewed as attainable; a wish may be for what is remote or uncertain, or even for what is recognized as impossible. Craving is stronger than hankering; hankering may be the result of a fitful and capricious appetite; craving may be the imperious and reasonable demand of the whole nature. Longing is a reaching out with deep and persistent demand for that which is viewed as now distant but at some time attainable; as, the captive's longing for release. Coveting ordinarily denotes wrong desire for that which is another's. Compare APPETITE.

How to use desire in a sentence?
Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will.
If movements were a spark, every dancer would desire to light up in flames
The point of my comment was not to confess a personal trauma, i was speaking about the way emotional and physical boundaries are violated for someone in the public eye, who is seen as an object of desire. Depending on so many factors, it can range from conscious abuse to something very unconscious -- and that is the point I was making, cautiously, in the context of a conversation about fanaticism and cultural norms which support manipulative or abusive behavior. These are the same norms which support predatory men, but not exclusively predatory men. They affect, and infect, us all.
For with slight efforts how should we obtain great results It is foolish even to desire it.
The mask is the new T-shirt, when people go to a protest or try to have their opinions about things, people will wear T-shirts or hats or carry signs, but we're not able to protest at the moment. So when people are getting their vote masks and posting selfies online, it's a manifestation of a desire to have that kind of political and societal voice and expression in the ways that we can at the moment.
